Lake Manyara packs an unusual variety of habitats into a small area — spring-fed forest, open floodplain, acacia woodland and the shallow soda lake itself.
It is best known for tree-climbing lions, large baboon troops and a shoreline that can turn pink with flamingos in the right season.
